The Daily Struggle- Black Out

Today’s daily struggle is a continuation of yesterday’s. Not the underwire, but the date. It is about getting hammered on a date with someone you barely know. When you begin dating someone there are some things that you should probably avoid. One of those things is getting black out drunk on a fourth date. I made the mistake of not eating anything before grabbing a few drinks. While my date was drinking Girls Lite aka Coors Lite, I was slamming down the hard stuff. I’m talking IPAs. I’m talking stouts. I’m talking pumpkin beers with an alcohol percentage so high you’ll get altitude sickness. Either way, I was not making very good decisions.

I probably should have paid more attention to both the amount I was consuming and the types of beers I was throwing down. Let’s just say both my date and I were not prepared for this type of evening. My date did warn me that I was going to get drunk if I kept slugging them down the way I was, but I was not trying to be lectured by this guy so I continued to ignore the fact that I was on the verge of a black out.

This was the first time I ever acted this way while I was trying to get to know someone. But honestly it was like ripping the bandaid, He was getting the FULL picture of my true self. An irresponsible, beer chugging, comedian. I was on fire with the jokes yesterday. The liquid courage was flowing through my veins. I definitely made fun of his boat shoes, which I can’t tell was a good or bad thing. I guess we will see if he wears them again or not. He probably went home and set them on fire. That’s what I would do if someone roasted an article of clothing I was wearing. That’s the only issue when I drink too much-- I become super truthful.

By the end of the night I was just an annoying drunk girl. Luckily he was super cool with it. He drove me home and walked me to the door. He even checked in with how I was feeling in the morning. But he did give me an “I told you so” text as well, which was very deserved. I hope I am not the only person who embarrasses themselves the way I do constantly. It is never a dull moment.

What is the worst thing you all have done when you started dating someone? I’m sure I am not the only one who got too drunk! I honestly wouldn’t have cared if I wasn’t hungover today for work and didn’t have an upset stomach. It is probably because I was so drunk I was eating jalapenos out of a jar last night. I actually need stopped. But anyways, please share your embarrassing dating moments with me! I need to know I am not alone!
