Redefining Beauty: Meet Jessica B.
A few weeks ago we launched something new here at Trusst: our Redefining Beauty campaign. We’re challenging the traditional perceptions of what beauty is and what it stands for. To redefine beauty means to express yourself - however it resonates to you in your life.
Each week, we’ll feature a new Trusst customer and her story. We’ll share her thoughts on beauty, comfort, and what she loves about the Trusst brand and products. We encourage you to share your stories as well - and we’ll even feature you on the blog!
Jessica B. - Our third customer feature - found out about Trusst through her husband, another industrial designer. Her first bra purchased was the Suzanne and she fell in love immediately.
Jessica works as a program/project manager at a global software company and she is also an adjunct professor at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. She enjoys hiking with her dog, reading, traveling (over 50 countries visited!) and volunteering with Allegheny GoatScape. Connecting with people, finishing challenging assignments, teaching tomorrow's leaders and working with animals builds Jessica’s confidence.
Hear more from our interview with Jessica:
Trusst: What is your favorite thing about Trusst and/or the products?
Jessica: I love Trusst bras because they are the only bra that I have found that provides support while also being comfortable. Only women could design a bra that is so comfortable and provides necessary support and lift!
Trusst: How have Trusst bras changed your life?
Jessica: I look 10 pounds lighter when I wear the bra because I have the necessary lift that I need without having any underwire cutting into my skin. Finally! Bras designed by women for women!
Trusst: Why did you choose this spot for your photograph? What does it mean for your life/lifestyle, and you?
Jessica: I hike the Emerald View trail on Mt. Washington twice a day to walk my dog, get some exercise for myself and feed the feral cat colonies along the way. These hikes are an integral part of my day everyday because it keeps my body fit and my mind clear.
Trusst: What does beauty mean to you?
Jessica: Beauty comes having an active and engaged life and pursuing your passions. It has nothing to do with looking like a Kardashian. If you are active, engaged and being your best self, you will attract all the people and opportunities you could ever want.
Trusst: Anything else you want to share?
Jessica: I am SO OVER apparel designed by men but made for women. How could a man possibly understand what is comfortable for a woman? Men's domination of the fashion world has resulted in warped body standards, a proliferation of eating disorders and uncomfortable garments. It is well past the time when women should design apparel for women.
Trusst was founded by women who challenged the traditional stereotypes of bra design - through engineering, physics, and product design that is not typically seen in the lingerie industry. However, that passion for challenge extends further than just through design; it resonates in the way you live your life as well as the way you perceive yourself and others around you.
We will continue to share stories of other women like Jessica who are redefining beauty. And we welcome you to share yours as well! Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or share photos and tag us with #trusstyourself and #redefiningbeauty and we’ll feature you in an upcoming blog post.
Thanks for all of YOUR support of our brand and mission - we wouldn’t be here without you.
