A Day in the Life with Trusst Brands Founder Sophia Berman
As a women-owned and -operated company, we at Trusst are passionate about sharing how we lead our organization with you, in addition to supporting other female-owned companies. Our customers are hardworking women who are changing the world — whether that be in school, the workforce, or as mothers, daughters, sisters, and/or partners — and we’re dedicated to inspiring you as much as you inspire us!
Last month, we interviewed our female founder Sophia Berman about her amazing work at Trusst. Today, we’re giving you a peek into a day in her life as she works at Trusst, practices self-care, and continues to create D+ bras you can count on:
I wake up, then head over to the pool to swim laps and clear my head. My favorite days are the ones I start off swimming; it’s my favorite way to practice self-care AND stay in shape! And with a baby on the way, it is more important than ever to make sure my body — and mind — are healthy.
After swimming, I’ll go home, make breakfast, and get ready for the day ahead.
I make my way to the office. Like most people in Pittsburgh, I drive in to work.
After parking, I walk down the street with some of the members of the Trusst team to catch up and grab a morning coffee. This is one of my favorite ways to begin the work day -- it gives us time to recap, catch up on things that aren’t work-related, and get some fuel for the day ahead!
It’s time to get started at the Trusst office! No two days at Trusst are the same. I’m usually working on a bunch of different things at once, from PR and marketing meetings to reviewing new product samples. I love the combination of design, engineering, and material science discussions that we have almost daily here at Trusst. It really creates an inspiring atmosphere and continues to fuel my creativity.
I also get to do some of the design work these days, which means that I collaborate with Marketing on new social concepts, as well as new bra designs. We’re also moving offices in a few weeks, and I’ve been working with a design team for all of our new furniture. It’s always fun to have a fresh palette to work with!
Today, we’re also taking pictures for some exciting new projects. I get to do some of the design work these days, which means that I collaborate with Marketing on new social concepts, as well as new bra designs. I spend part of the day working with our photographer to bring these ideas to life. We’re also moving offices in a few weeks, and, in addition to assisting with photography and marketing, I’ve also been working with a design team for all of our new furniture. It’s always fun to have a fresh palette to work with!
As founder of Trusst, I’m also always networking, prepping for the next round of funding, and researching new ways to promote our brand. One of the reasons I love Pittsburgh is its accessibility to really cool events (some of which I even get to participate in and speak at)! Although I’m staying at the office today, I’m looking forward to a packed fall calendar with multiple speaking and presenting engagements. I love to share our story.
At around 6:00, I’ll leave the office -- at least for a change of scenery -- and go home to my house in Lawrenceville. My husband and I like to cook a lot, so dinner is always next! He’s Japanese, so I tend to let him cook more than me :).
These days, there has also been a lot of work around getting the house ready and prepping for December when our first child will arrive (the sex is a secret!). We’re super excited and are starting to brainstorm names. I also have two cats, Eli and Zorro, that I like to spend time with. They’re in for a new experience soon!
I wrap up my day by finishing up some work and working on some side projects. Part of my self-care involves always having something creative going on the side. These projects help to balance out my work at Trusst with my own creativity; they keep things fresh and inspired.
Time for bed! It’s important I get enough sleep -- not only because I’m resting for two, but also because it helps me to refresh my mind and prepare for the next exciting day.
Working at Trusst is always exciting -- we’re constantly finding new ways to spark our creativity and come up with innovative ideas for our D+ lingerie. And as Sophia’s day illustrates, the work we do outside of the office is just as important as the work we do in it. Caring for our bodies; engaging our minds; and prioritizing our emotional wellbeing by spending time connecting with those around us are all vital ways that we stay energized while creating brand new, revolutionary concepts for your high-tech Trusst bra. We’re excited to continue giving you a glimpse into our lives here at Trusst and showing you our favorite ways to practice self-care every day.
As a company created for women by women, we can’t wait to continue sharing our story with you as we grow. Keep checking this space for more inspiration on what it means to be a female-led company and on how we’re creating bras engineered to support women everywhere!
